About the Author

Donye Price is Chester, Pennsylvania’s first Black female firefighter and the author of Girls Can Be Firefighters Too.
Her mission is simple: help every child see courage, curiosity, and possibility in themselves.

From answering real emergency calls to visiting classrooms across the region, Donye uses her story to spark confidence in kids who rarely see themselves in the hero’s seat.

When she’s not at the firehouse, Donye is the founder of My SereniTeas, a wellness brand that blends stillness, storytelling, and community. She’s also a proud mom of three and a believer that peace and purpose can coexist with hustle.
